Careers: Sr. Controls Engineer
This position encompasses all facets of project engineering for factory automation and control systems, including: meeting with customers to define scope of work, controls system design, specification, programming, testing, installation, and start-up. The Sr. Controls Engineer will analyze customer's systems and requirements in order to design creative and cost-effective solutions that achieve optimal performance.
The Sr. Controls Engineer will be responsible for both hardware and software design, including: programming, configuration, installation and troubleshooting of HMIs, PLCs, VFDs, servos and other field devices. This Engineer will also be responsible for interpreting, creating and modifying electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop wiring diagrams, and functional specifications.
Requirements:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Candidate must have an understanding of electrical and PLC architecture and have experience writing functional specifications. Must have the ability to create and modify PLC Ladder Logic. Must be proficient in programming specific PLCs such as Siemens, GE, Allen-Bradley and Modicon.
- HMI experience should include Panel View, Panel View+, WinCC, Simantic, Wonderware, Cimplicity ME, Modicon and Quick Panel.
- Candidate must have experience with drives to include VFDs and motion control.
- Candidate must possess factory floor troubleshooting experience, computer and networking skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills and be willing to travel.
- A minimum of 10 years experience in industrial control systems. Experience in automotive, food & beverage, material handling, and packaging industries is a plus.
- Five years of project management and engineering managment experience is desirable.
