FlexTend is a pre-engineered integrated robotic solution designed specifically for automating machine tool loading and unloading applications.
FlexTend is based on the principles of Group Technology as applied to parts machining and manufacturing. Simply stated, Group Technology involves grouping into a workcell the multiple differing machine tools required to completely process a part, and progressively completing all of the manufacturing operations with little or no work-in-process inventory. By using a robot (or robots) to handle parts through these various operations, a flexible means of completing all of the material handling operations can be achieved. This flexibility has a significant impact on manufacturing efficiencies and costs.
